About the event

This is a FREE 10-day program designed to support your success as an incoming freshman in STEM! Many successful students like you underestimate how challenging first-year Chemistry and Math courses can be. This program will help you to know how to approach the material from day 1!

During this immersive program you will:

  • Meet Your STEM Professors, Instructors, Advisors, Classmates and Peers
  • Learn how to navigate STEM-specific campus resources
  • Learn how to prepare for your Math and Chemistry courses you will take this fall
  • Learn study strategies that will help you succeed your first year and beyond.

General Eligibility:

  • Freshmen entering Hunter College in Fall 2023 (not transferring from another College)
  • Enrolling as a full-time student in Fall 2023
  • Enrolling in General Chemistry 1 (CHEM 102) this academic year as requirement for your intended science major

Freshmen in any of the following groups are highly encouraged to apply:

  • Identify from a group that is underrepresented in STEM (Hispanic/Latinx, Black/African American, Native American/Indigenous, Pacific Islander)
  • First-generation college students
  • From other underserved communities that may experience challenges transitioning to college
  • Students who are not starting college as part of another cohort/scholar/honors program at Hunter
